Evaluation criteria

Evaluation criteria define how candidates are assessed throughout the hiring process.

Evaluation criteria define how candidates are assessed throughout the hiring process.

These criteria are used by Spheric’s AI to score candidates and determine whether they move forward in each stage.

What are evaluation criteria

Evaluation criteria are the specific factors used to evaluate candidates, such as:

  • Work experience
  • Skills
  • Education
  • Communication
  • Role-specific requirements

These are configured when creating your role and directly impact candidate scoring.

Importance levels

Each evaluation criterion is assigned an importance level. This tells Spheric’s AI how much weight to give that factor when scoring candidates.

What each level means

  • Nice to Have → Optional criteria. Candidates are not heavily penalized if they don’t meet it.
  • Important → Relevant criteria that contribute to the overall score.
  • Very Important → Strong indicators of a good match. Candidates are expected to meet these to move forward.
  • Essential → Critical requirements. Candidates must meet these to be considered a strong fit.

How importance levels impact scoring

  • Higher importance = greater impact on the candidate’s score
  • Essential criteria can determine whether a candidate progresses
  • Lower importance criteria have less influence on final evaluation

Candidates are evaluated more deeply based on:

  • Communication
  • Problem-solving
  • Technical skills (if applicable)

How criteria impact results

  • Each criterion contributes to the candidate’s overall score
  • Candidates must meet defined thresholds to move forward
